Fan voting is now open to help decide next season’s promotion

ERIE, PA – The Erie BayHawks’ “What Could’ve Been Night,” a night that featured the team playing as the Erie Pepperoni Balls, was named the NBA G League’s inaugural “Promotion of the Year,” it was announced at the G League’s sales and marketing meetings in Charlotte, NC on Friday, May 11th. The BayHawks are now asking fans for suggestions for next season’s “What Could’ve Been Night.”

On March 9th the Erie BayHawks transformed into the Erie Pepperoni Balls, sporting unique Pepperoni Balls uniforms.  The promotion garnered both regional and national media attention and generated over $4,000 in fundraising for the United Way of Erie County’s Imagination Library, through a uniform auction and in-arena pepperoni ball sales.

The BayHawks, already looking towards next season’s “What Could’ve Been Night,” are asking fans for their opinions.

“Our fans have told us they loved the Pepperoni Balls promotion and now they can tell us what they want to see next season,” said team president Matt Bresee. “Do we bring back the Pepperoni Balls, or do we pay homage to something else that’s special about our region?  The fans can decide.”
