ERIE, PA – The Erie BayHawks, NBA G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club, announced today the acquisition of forward Jeremy Evans from the Reno Bighorns, along with their fourth round pick in the 2018 NBA G League Draft, in exchange for Erie’s first round pick in the 2018 NBA G League Draft. Both Evans and recent Atlanta Hawks assignee Tyler Dorsey will be active for today’s game against the Lakeland Magic. To make room for Evans on the roster, the BayHawks have waived DeAndre Daniels.

Evans (6’9, 200) spent the 2017 preseason with the Atlanta Hawks, appearing in three games. The Hawks placed him on waivers on October 13, 2017. During the 2016-17 season, Evans saw action in four games for Khimki (Russia) of the VTB United League. He also appeared in two EuroCup matches. In his six games for Khimki, Evans owned averages of 6.3 points on .571 shooting and 5.2 rebounds in 13.5 minutes.

The Utah Jazz selected Evans in the second round (55th pick) in the 2010 NBA Draft. He suited up for the Jazz for five seasons (2010-15) and one season for the Dallas Mavericks (2015-16). In six NBA seasons, the 2012 NBA Slam Dunk Champion appeared in 249 games (nine starts) and compiled averages of 3.5 points on .568 shooting from the field and 2.6 rebounds in 10.5 minutes of play.

Evans joins the BayHawks with prior NBA G League experience, having appeared in six G League games. He was assigned for two games (all starts) with the Utah Flash (2010-11) and assigned for four games (all starts) with the Texas Legends (2015-16). In his six games (all starts), Evans registered 14.7 points on .507 shooting from the floor, 8.8 rebounds, 1.8 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.5 blocks in 34.5 minutes of action. Evans enjoyed a four-year collegiate career at Western Kentucky (2006-10).

DeAndre Daniels had appeared in all three games for the BayHawks this season, averaging 7.3 points, 6.7 rebounds and 1.0 block in 20.6 minutes of play. Erie selected Daniels in the first round of the 2017 NBA G League Expansion Draft.

The BayHawks begin a two-game road trip today, first facing off against the Lakeland Magic. Tipoff is set for 3:00 PM. Erie will take on the Greensboro Swarm on Tuesday, before hosting back-to-back home games this weekend. The BayHawks will square off against Delaware on Friday and Greensboro on Saturday.
