ERIE BAYHAWKS ANNOUNCE 2019-20 SCHEDULE
BayHawks open season at home November 8 against the College Park
Ticket prices reduced for all weekday home games this season
ERIE, PA – The NBA G League released its schedule for the 2019-20 season today. The Erie BayHawks, NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, will start their campaign on a home back-to-back, squaring off with the Atlanta Hawks new affiliate, the College Park SkyHawks on Friday, November 8 and the Greensboro Swarm, affiliate of the Charlotte Hornets, on Saturday, November 9. All home games start at 7:00 p.m. unless otherwise noted. A full schedule of promotions will be announced at a later date.
New for this season, the team is selling all bowl seats in the arena at half-price for all weeknight home games (Monday – Thursday). Main Level tickets will be $5 (regularly $10), Lower Bowl $7.50 (regularly $15) and Lower Bowl Premium $10 (regularly $20). The new discounted pricing will apply to all single game and group ticket purchases for all nine of the team’s weeknight home games. Group tickets are on sale now and single game tickets will go on sale at a later date.
With the addition of the New Orleans Pelicans expansion, the NBA G League will feature a league-record 28 teams. College Park will be placed in the Southeast Division, joining the BayHawks, Capital City Go-Go, Greensboro Swarm and Lakeland Magic. Erie will play each of those Southeast Division opponents four times during the 2019-20 season, twice at home and twice on the road.
Following Erie’s back-to-back homestand to start the season, the BayHawks will play six of their next eight games on the road, including seven games in 12 days, to finish out the month of November. Matchups include a Sunday night contest with the 2018-19 Southeast Division champions, Lakeland Magic, on November 17 and consecutive bouts against last year’s Central Division champions, Grand Rapids Drive, on Monday, November 25 and Wednesday, November 27.
Two additional regular season games will be played at the NBA G League Showcase, which will be announced at a later date.
With a road-heavy start to the season (13 of 21 games on the road to start 2019-20), Erie will look to a plethora of late-season home games to utilize to its advantage. From Saturday, February 1 against the Delaware Blue Coats to a Saturday night battle with the Canton Charge on March 7, the BayHawks will have nine of 13 games at Erie Insurance Arena.
The BayHawks have six back-to-backs scheduled on this year’s calendar, down from eight last season and nine the year before that. Five of those back-to-backs are schedule for Friday-Saturday contests, with the sixth coming on Monday, March 16 against the Texas Legends and Tuesday, March 17 versus the Austin Spurs.
Erie is embarking on its 12th year in the NBA G League and its first season as the New Orleans Pelicans affiliate. This season also marks the second year in Erie for recently named Head Coach Ryan Pannone. Pannone was last with the BayHawks during the 2014-15 season as an assistant coach on Bill Peterson’s staff.
