Erie waives guard Quinton Chievous to open roster spot for Anigbogu 

ERIE, PA – The Erie BayHawks, NBA G League affiliate of the New Orleans Pelicans, announced today that they have acquired center Ike Anigbogu off waivers.

Anigbogu (6-9, 252) last played for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants, NBA G League affiliate of the Indiana Pacers, during the 2018-19 season. In 21 games played (all starts) for the Mad Ants, Anigbogu averaged 11.1 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.0 blocks in 27.2 minutes. The Corona, Calif. native recorded eight double-doubles in the G League last season, including 13 points, a season-high 17 rebounds and six blocks in 31 minutes versus Delaware (12/28/18).

To clear a roster spot for Anigbogu, the BayHawks waived guard Quinton Chievous. In 18 games (one start) with Erie this season, Chievous averaged 4.4 points, 2.6 rebounds and 0.7 assists in 13.9 minutes. Chievous tallied four games scoring in double figures, including a season-high 12 points, four rebounds and two assists on Nov. 17 against Lakeland.

Erie is set to square off with the Delaware Blue Coats tomorrow night at Erie Insurance Arena. Tip is set for 7 p.m. as the BayHawks take on the moniker of the Erie Pepperoni Balls, tying back to the team’s initial promotion during the 2017-18 NBA G League season.
