BayHawks Acquire Joe Thomasson, Waive Robert Vaden

Erie, PA (March 28) – Erie BayHawks have acquired Joe Thomasson from the available player pool, the team announced today. Robert Vaden has been waived by the BayHawks, due to a season-ending concussion.

Thomasson (6-4, 165) most recently played for CS Dinamo Bucuresti of the Liga Națională. In four games (all starts) for CS Dinamo Bucuresti, Thomasson averaged 11.5 points, 3.2 rebounds, 5.8 assists and 1.2 steals in 33.2 minutes of play. Prior to joining CS Dinamo Bucuresti, he played collegiately at Wright State. In two years at Wright State, Thomasson averaged 9.8 points on .455 (199-437) shooting from the floor, 5.4 rebounds and 3.3 assists in 30.4 minutes of action. Thomasson began his collegiate career at State Fair Community College.

Vaden was acquired by the BayHawks on January 23 from the available player pool. In 21 games (one start) for Erie this season, Vaden averaged 7.9 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.5 assists in 22.3 minutes per game.

The BayHawks will hit the court tonight for a contest against the Windy City Bulls with tipoff set for 8:00 PM ET. Following tonight’s match, Erie will remain on the road for a matchup with Iowa, before returning home for its season finale on Saturday against Delaware.
