BayHawks Complete Trade With Legends

ERIE, PA – The Erie BayHawks, NBA G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club, has completed a trade with the Texas Legends, the team announced today. Erie has traded forward Billy Preston to Texas, in exchange for the returning player rights to guard Codi Miller-McIntyre.

Miller-McIntyre (6-3, 205), appeared in eight games (all starts) with the Legends this season, averaging 10.6 points, 5.8 rebounds, 6.5 assists and 1.9 steals in 36.5 minutes of action. He was signed to a contract by the Dallas Mavericks on Aug. 1, 2018, appearing in two preseason games, before being waived on Oct. 8, 2018.

A native of High Point, North Carolina, Miller-McIntyre is currently playing for Zenit Saint Petersburg in Russia. Other overseas stints for the Wake Forest product includes suiting up for Stella Artois Leuven (2016-17) and Parma Basket Perm (2017-18). He led the Belgian League in scoring (17.2 ppg), as well as assists (5.8 apg) during the 2016-17 season.

Preston (6-10, 230) was acquired on Dec. 16 in a trade with the Canton Charge. He saw action in six games with the BayHawks, tallying 3.0 points and 1.2 rebounds in 7.1 minutes.

Erie begins a three-game road trip tonight in Lakeland. The BayHawks will then face the Greensboro Swarm (Feb. 9) and the Delaware Blue Coats (Feb. 10), before coming home for a contest against the Maine Red Claws (Feb. 13). Tipoff for all four contests are slated for 7 p.m.
