ERIE BAYHAWKS ACQUIRE KAMERON CHATMAN
ERIE, PA – The Erie BayHawks, NBA G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club, have acquired forward Kameron Chatman from the available player pool, the team announced today.
Chatman (6-9, 225) most recently suited up for Pinar Karsiyaha in Turkey. He saw action in 13 games (three starts) in the Turkish Basketball League and appeared in nine games (three starts) in the FIBA Europe Cup. In total, Chatman played in 22 games (six starts) for Pinar Karsiyaha, and averaged 5.1 points and 2.5 rebounds in 16.7 minutes.
Prior to his professional career, the Portland, Oregon, native played two years at the University of Michigan (2014-16), before transferring to the University of Detroit Mercy (2017-18). Chatman had his best collegiate season in 2017-18, appearing in 29 games (all starts) for the Titans, averaging 17.8 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.2 steals in 32.6 minutes (.472 FG%, .414 3FG%, .849 FT%). He was named to the All-Horizon League Second Team that same season.
Erie will head to Grand Rapids on Wednesday, Feb. 20 for a match against the Drive, before hosting back-to-back contests this weekend. The BayHawks will change their name to the Erie Wave for Friday’s game against the Canton Charge, as part of Erie’s Hardwood Classics Night. On Saturday, Feb. 23, the newest member of the NBA G League, the Capital City Go-Go, will make their first trip to Erie Insurance Arena.
