Erie BayHawks Complete Trade With Grand Rapids Drive

Erie, PA – The Erie BayHawks, NBA G League affiliate of the Atlanta Hawks Basketball Club, completed a trade with the Grand Rapids Drive, the team announced today. Erie will send the returning player rights of forward Raphiael Putney to Grand Rapids, in exchange for the returning player rights to center Landry Nnoko and the Drive’s own original first-round pick in the 2018 NBA G League Draft.

Nnoko (6-10, 250) appeared in 49 games (all starts) for the Drive during the 2017-18 season, registering 14.7 points, 11.5 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 2.1 blocks in 32.5 minutes per contest (.579 FG%, .744 FT%). Named the 2017-18 NBA G League Defensive Player of the Year, Nnoko finished the season ranked second in rebounds per game (11.5), second in double-doubles (27) and fourth in blocks per game (2.1). Nnoko led the Drive in rebounds in 34 of his 49 games, pulling down 15 or more boards 11 times, including a season-best 20 rebounds twice (Feb. 7, 2018 vs. Windy City, Mar. 2, 2018 at Canton).

The Clemson University product suited up for the Miami Heat this summer, appearing in four games (three starts) in the Las Vegas Summer League and three games in Sacramento. In total, Nnoko saw action in seven games (three starts), tallying 6.3 points and 6.1 rebounds in 17.3 minutes per contest (.760 FG%, .600 FT%).

Putney had appeared in 46 games (36 starts) for the BayHawks last season, tallying 16.3 points, 8.2 rebounds, 2.3 blocks, 1.8 assists and 1.2 steals in 28.8 minutes (.455 FG%, .338 3FG%, .789 FT%). He was selected by Erie in the ninth-round of the 2017 NBA G League Expansion Draft, joining the BayHawks on Nov. 10.
